An automated high-bay racking system—also known as an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS), high-rise rack warehouse, or automated warehouse—typically consists of racks that are several stories high, often ranging from a few levels to more than ten or even dozens of levels. Goods are automatically stored and retrieved using automated material handling equipment.
